Times Square Center announces limited retail space availability in its new ‘Picnic Square’

UAE-based Times Square Center is getting ready to reveal its newly refurbished, sustainable and energy-efficient food court area ‘Picnic Square.’ It has announced limited space availability for any new brands hoping to move into the mall and tap into its exclusive, family-focused audience.

“The plan is to transform our current, traditional food court to one that includes market-style fruit and vegetable stalls and less, ‘fast-food, more good-food’ styled eatery options,” said Nancy Ozbek, General Manager of Times Square Center.

The unique new concept will incorporate stylish, new functional dining areas; greenery filled and open welcoming spaces. Picnic Square will feature deli-style restaurants and cafes and kid-sized table and chair seating filling the majority of the space, with contrasting accents of shrubbery and greenery. ‘Private pods’ will allow mums looking for a bit of privacy, the ability to feed their babies out of view from other shoppers.

Current culinary offerings that will be located in Picnic Square include Baby Eats,  the only baby and toddler meal plan concept successfully operating across 7 emirates . Times Square Center is looking specifically for brands that are family-focused and will add quality and value to Picnic Square. Retail spaces currently available within Picnic Square include sizes ranging from 35 to 45 SQM.

“We have been strategically executing our transformation into an appealing community-style destination over the past 2 years and Picnic Square is the final piece of the puzzle. Watching it all come together is extremely satisfying,” she said.

“We are a family-focused mall but also a female-empowering team and we want that to spill out into the mumpreneur brands that take the risk and choose to open a tiny space in our mall without feeling competition from any of the more established, female-owned brands, such as Eggs & Soldiers, Malaak, Naya Yoga & Pilates Studio, StudiyoLab or Mums n Bumps. There really is space for everyone at our Picnic Table, so come and join us!”

In line with Times Square Center’s sustainability focus, it has commissioned Summertown Interiors, a specialist sustainable contractor to execute the exciting new Picnic Square. Summertown Interiors, with a female-led project team, will also assist Times Square in attaining LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for the new community, family-focussed dining area.

Times Square Center has shifted its focus on identifying the right tenants to fill the remaining space and would like them to share the community ethos of Time Square Center while looking to be part of a thriving family focused space.
