Trader Vic’s to open in JBR

Tiki-themed restaurant Trader Vic’s will open at the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) next month.

Stepping into the completely re-designed space, customers will be able to witness the incredible detail and effort that has gone into the interior design. Canoes from the Taiwanese Orchid Island hang from the ceiling, tribal masks from Papua New Guinea adorn the walls, fishing net orbs from Japan hover above tables, while each and every table is watched over by a hand-carved and one-of-a-kind Tiki statue. There’s even an original painting by the namesake himself, Trader Vic, behind the bar.

The huge restaurant space allows for different types of seating. Semi-private booths by the windows will entice big groups, one-on-one diners can enjoy a raised centre area and those who want to be close to the music will find a spot in front of the stage. The large outdoor terrace offers a prime view of the Arabian Gulf looking onto The Palm Jumeirah.

On entering the hotel’s lobby, customers will follow the huge hand-carved wooden Tikis up to the venue. There are a total of 34 Tikis inside, ranging in size, shape and type of wood – each with its own name and backstory from across the Polynesian countries.

“Trader Vic’s is a world-famous restaurant brand and it’s a pleasure to partner with them again – this is my second time at opening a Trader Vic’s branch in a Hilton hotel. This new venue will be a fantastic addition to the food and beverage outlets that we operate at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, and we expect it to be very popular with our hotel guests and the local JBR community. I’m looking forward to seeing it open,” says Andreas Searty, cluster general manager at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah.
