LUSH Cosmetics drives rewilding efforts in the UAE

Being aware of the pivotal role that biodiversity plays in preserving life and sustaining ecosystems on the planet British ethical beauty brand LUSH Cosmetics undertakes several efforts to safeguard biodiversity and minimise its ecological footprint. In pursuit of its mission and resolute commitment to leave the world lusher than they found it, LUSH forged a partnership with the UAE-based social enterprise Goumbook in 2022 to lend support to the ‘Give a Ghaf’ initiative as part of its rewilding efforts.

Through the planting of hundreds of Ghaf seeds, LUSH aims to support the local environment and raise awareness about the benefits of planting these trees. These efforts are carried out through various pop-ups and events in and around the UAE allowing LUSH to engage with the community, champion biodiversity conservation and inspire others to take part in rewilding initiatives.

“We firmly believe that nurturing biodiversity and promoting healthier ecosystems can make a profound impact on the planet,” said Miche Whitehouse, Head of Brand and Digital at LUSH Cosmetics. “Our commitment extends beyond simply sourcing natural ingredients; it involves understanding and actively mitigating the pressures on natural habitats within our supply chain. We are determined to demonstrate that raw material sourcing and biodiversity conservation can harmoniously coexist.”
