A landmark destination grows in Kuwait

The Tamdeen Group’s upcoming Al Kout is a massive mixed-use waterfront destination that infuses traditional architecture with contemporary design and offers world-class retail, lifestyle, leisure and hospitality options

The landmark Al Kout waterfront development stretches 1.6km along the Fahaheel beach, with its six components comprising a single destination spread across 3.2 million sqft. Of these, what currently exists is Souq Al Kout, with its two piers, and the Al Kout Rotana, which is operational and draws a lot of footfall, particularly Saudi tourists. The four components still to come up include Al Kout Mall, Nagat Al Kout, Marsa Al Kout and Sahel Al Kout, the beachfront.

Kuwait is seeing large-scale transformation from the retail and residential perspectives. Almost 50% of the country’s population is under 20 years and these youngsters are looking for unique retail, F&B, lifestyle and entertainment options. If you factor in the tourist influx from Saudi Arabia, there’s added need for world-class hospitality options.

That’s why Tamdeen Group has undertaken such a massive project, which, when complete, will integrate the new Al Kout Mall and Souq Al Kout, creating a waterfront retail, lifestyle and entertainment destination with 12 state-of-the-art movie theatres, a five-star hotel, multi-conference and event halls, banks, international entertainment venues, gym, marina with yachting club and fishing port, in addition to dancing fountains, picnic areas and restaurants and cafés.
