adidas has announced the launch of its first store located at the world’s busiest international airport, Dubai International (DXB). Located in Terminal 3, concourse B, the new store aims to provide travellers with a range of athletic and lifestyle footwear, apparel, and accessories.

Totalling 67sqm of retail space, the new adidas store will carry collections across sports and lifestyle including key collections such as Marimekko and UltraBOOST running shoes. The store also includes special product offerings and travel necessities including headphones and mobile covers as well as apparel made exclusively for the city of Dubai, including customized Dubai t-shirts.

Travellers are invited to explore the vast range of products in a unique retail experience. The futuristic layout and architecture of the store is tailored to reflect the Emirate’s forward-thinking vision. The 29 non-identical brass metal fins are elevated up to 5.5m above ground level, leaving customers with a strong memory of this phenomenal experience.

“We are extremely proud of the valued partnership we have with Dubai Airports. The new store at DXB will offer a range of products for international travellers and UAE residents who travel through Terminal 3,” said Olivier Acquaviva, Senior Director DTC adidas MENA. “As lockdowns ease and people are able to travel, our store team is ready to deliver a meaningful and unique shopping experience to each and every consumer,” he added.

“Dubai Airports is delighted to partner with adidas in expanding our customer offer and experience at DXB. We look forward to a successful and multifaceted partnership, geared towards contemporary travel and lifestyle trends,” said Eugene Barry, EVP Commercial at Dubai Airports.

The metallic structure weighs approximately 17 tons which includes more than 100 brass sheets and metal box sections connected with thousands of bolts to hold them in place. The full structure is 100% recyclable further highlighting adidas’ sustainability commitment towards a greener planet.
