Peer-to-peer shipping platform AirWayBill is making online shopping easier in the Middle East. Created by Saudi entrepreneurs at Silicon Valley, this app promises faster deliveries at lower costs by using travellers to fuel the app.
The mechanism is simple. The app has to be downloaded, following by user registration. Then the user can post a request, accept a traveller’s offer to bring the item and the item is on its way.
AirWayBill launched recently is already on the top 20 charts of more than five countries globally, and has recorded more than 50,000 registered users, over 100,000 app downloads and travellers adding more than 4,000 trips in just a short amount of time – taking the shipping industry by storm.
“Not only does this app promise to revolutionise online shopping and shipping, it also gives travellers an avenue to make connections and fund their trip by earning a reasonable fee to carry an item as they travel – all it takes is just some extra space,” says Khaled Sehly, managing director, AirWayBill, S.L.
