UAE-based retailer Al Manama Hypermarkets and Supermarkets, part of Al Manama Group of Companies, has launched its flagship store in Dubai’s Times Square Centre.
The 18,000 sqft Al Manama Hypermarket, which is the group’s 17th outlet in the UAE, marks a huge step forward for the retail chain in terms of location, store design, layout, product assortment and visual merchandising, targeted at multicultural shoppers.
“Our aim as a group is to grow and evolve with the fast paced development and high standards followed in the UAE. We have received immense support from the management of Times Square who placed their trust in our team to deliver a shopping environment that matched their expectations,’’ says AK Sabeer, managing director, Al Manama Group of Companies.
Al Manama has announced plans to open 10 additional stores in the UAE by the end of 2013, including its debut stores in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The company’s mall development division is building a shopping mall in Sharjah which will include a Manama hypermarket and is expected to be completed in 2014.
“To maintain uniformity in store design and layout across all our stores, we have started upgrading and renovating our existing stores in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. By modernising our stores and expanding our presence in the UAE, we aim to double our current turnover by 2015. We also plan to expand beyond the UAE into markets such as Oman and Saudi Arabia,’’ says Sabeer.
