Qatar-based retailer Al Meera Consumer Goods Company has signed contracts worth $65.5 million hiring two firms – Al Muftah Contracting Company and Al Khayarin Group Contracting and Trading – to build six new shopping centres of 14 in the company’s pipeline.

According to the agreement, while Al Muftah Contracting Company will build four new Al Meera shopping centres, Al Khayarin Group Contracting and Trading will construct two new shopping centres for Al Meera. The project management services for the six new malls will be provided by Al Rayan Partners.

“We are excited to venture into this new partnership with Al Khayarin Group Contracting and Trading and Al Muftah Contracting Company,” says Al Meera deputy CEO Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani. “Our expansion plans are a result of a well-researched strategy to march with Qatar’s urban plans as well as to drive the company’s future growth.”

The four shopping centres awarded to Al Muftah Contracting Company will be located in Rawdat Aba El Heran, Azghawa, Leabaib and Umm Qarn. And Al Khayarin Group Contracting and Trading will work on two new Al Meera shopping stores in Al Khor and Saileya.
