Almaya Supermarket RAK

UAE-based Almaya Group has opened its first supermarket in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) at Al Hamra, Al Jazeera area. Spanning 14,000 sqft, the Almaya Supermarket in RAK offers a wide selection of fresh fruits, full-service meat counter, seafood counter and a bakery range.

But, why did the Almaya Group select the current time to open a new location?

“We are actually thrilled to introduce our new supermarket in Ras Al Khaimah, as we had no supermarket in the emirate and wanted to increase our coverage,” responded Kamal Vachani, group director, Almaya Group. “We believe the RAK customers will be pleased with the wide variety of services and fresh product offerings at the new Almaya Supermarket.”

Since the store opening almost coincides with the upcoming Eid Al Fitr, Almaya Supermarket has ensured enough stock of all items and SKUs, Vachani confirmed. Commenting on the challenges around a new store opening and operating amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, he stated, “We are abiding by all government regulations and keeping the required social distance measures.”

Alongside wide product offerings, Almaya Supermarket will also facilitate doorstep delivery in RAK, which is need of the hour.

“Over the past 35 years, Almaya has become a trusted supermarket chain; we have gained a sizeable share of the UAE retail market. This has been possible because of the convenience we offer in all our supermarkets – be that through free home delivery, free parking spaces and by operating 24 hours, 7 days a week. It will not be different in RAK,” Vachani concluded.
