Kuwait Food Company (Americana) – the operator of restaurant franchises like KFC, Pizza Hut, Hardee’s, and TGI Friday, among others – in the Middle East, recorded 31% increase in net profit during the second quarter of 2016.

The company posted a net profit of KD9.03 million ($29.91 million) in the three-month period ending June 30, up from KD6.88 million during the same period last year.

However, Americana’s operating profit declined during the said period due to Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting.
