Proudly homegrown in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bateel is more than just dates. It’s a brand that has created an unparallelled legacy as one of the world’s first organic date cultivators.

Bateel International was established in Riyadh, KSA in 1989, and since its inception, the brand has evolved from a pioneer in the gourmet date market to a leader in the global luxury food industry with three distinct brands within its portfolio including Bateel Boutique, Café Bateel and Bateel El’an.

Bateel Boutique has elevated dates to a gourmet delicacy and created a luxury retail experience that launched an entirely new market for dates and confectioneries. While Café Bateel was introduced to the Bateel International portfolio in 2007, which offers a distinct range of gourmet dishes curated by award-winning chefs leveraging world-renowned Mediterranean flavours.

The latest addition to the Bateel International portfolio is Bateel El’an, a game-changing culinary concept set to raise the bar of the region’s café culture. Bateel El’an showcases the brand’s signature focus on quality food in a compact, convenient, quick-service format with dine-in or takeaway options. The new concept is backed by a rapid expansion plan in the region and internationally, across malls, commercial centres, airports and standalone street locations. In fact, in May 2023, Bateel el’an’s inaugural outlet in the UAE launched in Waitrose Khalifa City Community Centre, Abu Dhabi. In June 2023, Bateel el’an’s second UAE location opened at Index Mall in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Currently under the leadership of Dr. Ata Atmar, CEO, Bateel International LLC, the brand is present in more than 15 countries across three continents through its retail and hospitality businesses. The brand operates 44 boutiques, 21 cafés and three Bateel El’an locations, so far.

In Saudi Arabia, Bateel operates six boutiques, six cafés and has launched its first Bateel El’an location in Riyadh. In May 2023, Bateel celebrated the opening of its first luxuriously designed flagship boutique on Fayfa Avenue, Jeddah. In March 2023, Bateel unveiled a new luxury boutique and award-winning café in The Zone, Riyadh. In June 2022, Bateel opened seven new boutiques across seven countries, five of which are new markets for the brand, including Egypt, Iraq (Erbil), Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan. In addition, Bateel is also growing its e-commerce platform, bateel.com, allowing for a seamless omnichannel shopping experience for customers around the world.
