Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group has opened its biggest hypermarket at the new Capital Mall in Mohammed Bin Zayed City near Mussafah. The 230,000 sqft store inaugurated on February 3, 2014, is the chain’s 108th outlet and its second hypermarket opening within a week, following its 107th branch in Ruwais Mall on January 29.
The hypermarket was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE minister of culture, youth & community development. Spread on two levels with the food & grocery section on the ground floor and department and lifestyle products on the first floor, the new hypermarket is targeted at the residents of the bustling suburbs of MBZ City, Khalifa City, Mussafah and nearby areas.
"This is our group’s biggest hypermarket till date and truly represents the height of quality and convenience keeping in my mind the changing trends and customer demands. While all our stores follow the highest standards in terms of store fittings, hygiene and food safety regulations this hypermarket will set new benchmarks for the retail industry of the region," says Yusuffali MA, managing director of Lulu Group.
"It has been our policy to bring world class shopping as close as possible to the shoppers rather than make them drive long distance. Now with more than 37 sourcing offices worldwide including UK, Africa and Far East, we are fully equipped to serve the diverse population of this cosmopolitan country. Other highlights include a special section to promote local grown vegetables and fruits which will not only give shoppers a chance to buy fresh produce but also help the local farming community," adds Yusuffali.
