BinDawood Holding begins roll out of Danube Express stores in Saudi Arabia

BinDawood Holding Co. one of the leading grocery retail operators of hypermarkets and supermarkets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today announced the official opening of two Express stores, under its Danube banner at the Haramain High Speed Railway stations (HHSR) in Jeddah and Makkah. The opening marks the first ‘express store’ model for Danube with two more to follow in 2022 at the Haramain High Speed Railway Stations across the country in the cities of Madinah and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).

“We are excited to begin the roll-out of this new ‘Express Store’ model under our Danube brand at railway stations across the country. The Haramain High Speed Railway connects the holy cities of Makkah, and Madinah via Jeddah and KAEC. It’s an important site for launching the Danube Express store model which will offer a selection of fresh and high-quality food offerings that is synonymous with our Danube brand. We plan to open two more Danube Express stores at the HHSR KAEC Station and HHSR Madinah Stations in 2022. The Haramain railway is expected to carry over 60 million passenger annually, and we are thrilled to reach more customers across the Kingdom and introduce them to the Danube experience through the new ‘Express’ model,” said Ahmad AR. Danube was the operator of the first ever hypermarket in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Danube Express store at HHSR Jeddah is 600sqm and the HHSR Makkak is 800sqm, and both stores will feature of a selection of high quality, fresh, premium offerings and handpicked exclusive imported goods. Since becoming part of BinDawood Holding in 2001, Danube has grown to 53 current locations, with an ongoing program of expansion underway.
