Black Tap to open at Yas Mall

Black Tap, the cult New York-based burger joint known for its signature craft burgers and famous milkshakes, is opening its first restaurant in Abu Dhabi at Yas Mall next month.

Black Tap’s arrival in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall – facilitated by Sunset Hospitality and Addmind Abu Dhabi – follows the brand’s successful launch in Dubai, with locations at Jumeriah Al Naseem and the Rixos Premium Dubai in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Black Tap’s international expansion includes Geneva and Kuwait, while it will open in Singapore this summer.

“Black Tap takes the classic American luncheonette, and puts our spin on it, with high-quality ingredients, 90s hip hop pumping through the speakers and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere,” says Black Tap owner and Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori.

“The response in the Middle East has been extraordinary, and we’re thrilled to bring the Black Tap experience to Abu Dhabi at Yas Mall,” adds Chris Barish, Black Tap owner, restaurateur and the man behind Black Tap’s expansion in the Middle East.

“American authenticity, quality ingredients and a relaxed, fun vibe are the key elements of Black Tap,” states Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of SunsetGroup, which operates Black Tap. “Black Tap has already garnered a hugely loyal following in the UAE thanks to the popularity of our Dubai branches and we expect to expand our reach in Abu Dhabi.”

“Yas Mall is known as a hub of culinary innovation and entertainment, and Black Tap is a great brand to introduce to the Abu Dhabi market,” adds Elie Kanaan, Addmind Abu Dhabi’s managing partner. “When we partnered up with Sunset Hospitality, we understood the brand value of Black Tap and are confident that the community is going to love trying the New York style burgers and CrazyShakes, all modernised for the Instagram age.”
