Abu Dhabi-based Yas Mall has announced the opening of a flagship Carrefour Hypermarket – owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim. The hypermarket will supplement the wide range of popular brands already on offer at Yas Mall.

The new Yas Mall branch of Carrefour, spanning approximately 165,590 sqft, will be the first in Abu Dhabi to include all its bespoke food concepts including Food 2 Go, Healthy Kitchen, Chocolate Factory, Candy Store and Green Home. It will provide everything a customer could need, offering an unrivalled choice of more than 100,000 products from food to non-food as well as thousands of household goods. In addition, the hypermarket will include live cooking stations with the best ready-to-eat meals prepared by specialised chefs on-site.

“We are proud to be the anchor store at the Yas Mall and offer our customers a world-class shopping experience. In addition to convenience, Yas Mall Carrefour Hypermarket will offer over 100,000 products and brands, catering to a wide range of needs and tastes. This flagship store in Abu Dhabi, is in-line with our expansion strategies in the UAE and our plans to offer convenience for our customers’ daily shopping, in our aim to create great moments for everyone everyday,” says Miguel Angel Povedano, COO, Carrefour UAE at Majid Al Futtaim Retail

The aim of the new hypermarket is to cater to the daily household needs of Abu Dhabi residents. As Yas Island is conveniently located 25 minutes from the capital’s city centre, it is the ideal place to shop for their needs. It also adheres to Yas Mall’s long-term goal and strategy to act as the lifestyle hub for Yas Island residents; Aldar Properties is set to handover properties later in the year, giving residents direct access to Carrefour to satisfy their daily shopping needs.

“We are proud that Carrefour has chosen Yas Mall for their first flagship store in Abu Dhabi and we are looking forward to our visitors experiencing a new level of shopping as they will now have access to an incredible range of bespoke concepts and products,” adds Saoud Khoory, general manager, Yas Mall.
