Fawaz A. Alhokair, Chairman, Cenomi Group

Saudi Arabia-based diversified business Fawaz Alhokair Group together with Arabian Centres and Fawaz Alhokair Fashion Retail Co. announced the launch of Cenomi towards the end of 2022. The full rebrand brings together all operating companies under the Cenomi brand with Arabian Centres now trading as Cenomi Centers and Alhokair Fashion Retail Co. trading as Cenomi Retail.

Starting with a quick look at how the business has transformed over three decades.

Chairman of Cenomi Group, Fawaz A. Alhokair founded erstwhile Fawaz Alhokair Group (now Cenomi Group) in 1990 in partnership with his brothers Salman and Abdulmajeed Alhokair.

The Group operates vertically and horizontally integrated businesses across sectors such as retail, mall development, construction, food and entertainment etc. This includes Cenomi Centers (formerly Arabian Centres) regarded as one of the largest mall development companies in the Middle East & North Africa with 21 assets located in 10 Saudi cities.

While Cenomi Retail (erstwhile Fawaz A. Alhokair & Co.) is a public listed retail company which is among the world’s largest franchise businesses, operating a portfolio of over 65 international brands, more than 1,500 retail stores across 100 shopping malls in 11 countries.

Commenting on the company’s growth, Fawaz Alhokair said, “For three decades our companies have grown and transformed alongside the country and its people to deliver access to the best brands across world-class platforms. Cenomi signifies an even greater amplification of that vision and firmly sets us up for the next 30 years of success and beyond.”

Having been the Chairman of the Group since inception Fawaz Alhokair has gained valuable leadership experience and wide-ranging retail knowledge, whilst also creating a unique and compelling business model. He began his retail career following his graduation when he acquired his father’s menswear business. A foray into retail franchising followed, and this was the genesis of the now listed company, Cenomi Retail. He has been responsible for the Group’s pursuit of innovation, diversity and philanthropy, playing an instrumental role in engaging with the Government of Saudi Arabia to enhance the role of women in the workplace. The Group currently employs 10,000+ team members globally.

From the domestic market in Saudi Arabia, the company has expanded across the Middle East, into North Africa, Central Asia and has recently entered the US market. What’s more, Cenomi has also announced two new products – the company’s first official loyalty programme Cenomi Rewards launched in March, and its new e-commerce marketplace Cenomi.com to be launched later this year.
