Chalhoub Group commits $1.2 million to support Lebanon

Luxury retailer, Chalhoub Group commit $1.2 million to support Lebanon, following the massive explosion in Beirut on August 4. Chalhoub Group has been moving fast to provide as much relief as possible for the emergency needs on the ground through the collection of funds, in-kind and volunteering.

Chalhoub Group has been following the evolving situation closely and ensuring proper courses of due diligence is taken to support the right channels who can offer the greatest impact. The luxury retailer has confirmed a donation of over $1.2 million to support through several programmes that will be monitored at every phase of their implementation.

The Group will support three phases of crisis management. The first phase will focus on immediate relief efforts specifically towards medical emergency needs as well as medico-social support. The second phase of disaster management will look at supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of buildings and infrastructure. Finally, once the urgent needs are addressed, the third phase will start, and it will focus on community development projects which is a long-term effort to reinstate resilience within the communities.

As Chalhoub Group commits $1.2 million to support Lebanon, CEO Patrick Chalhoub stated, “I stand with Lebanon and all the families impacted. I take this moment to thank all of our employees who have generously contributed to the relief programme we’ve put together to stand by the Lebanese people in their time of need. We have united as one to spread hope and once again, we proved that we are part of a wonderful community.”
