Middle Eastern luxury retailer, Chalhoub Group has joined both Dubai Cares’ mission to support the education of children and young people and Friends of Cancer Patient’s (FOCP) to back the fight against cancer by lending support to patients financially and morally through its CSR retail campaign ‘Together We Shine’.

Light and Hope candles are available in Chalhoub Group’s stores across the UAE. The contributions collected from the ‘Light’ candle will go towards an education programme focused on providing e-learning solution to help emergency affected, displaced and low-income youth in Jordan with Dubai Cares. The contributions collected from the ‘Hope’ candle will go towards financing the treatment of cancer patients in the UAE with FOCP.

‘Amal’ is the Arabic word for hope, represented by a lavender scented candle, while ‘Nur’ is the Arabic word for light, represented by an amber vanilla scented candle. Each candle is priced at AED35 and all the proceeds will be donated to the charity partners.

“As a group, we believe that we have a responsibility to give back to our community. Participating in ‘Together We Shine’ campaign is a way of bringing hope and light to the life of people and children in need. We are grateful to partner with Dubai Cares and Friends of Cancer Patients and to support their important mission,” says Florence Bulte, head of sustainable engagement at Chalhoub Group.
