Majid Al Futtaim – Dubai-based shopping mall developer and retail and leisure operator across the Middle East and North Africa – unveiled the new look of City Centre Al Shindagha, which was popularly known as a location housing Carrefour since September 2002 among a few other service oriented outlets.

The grand opening of the mall took place today under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and in the presence of His Excellency Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality.

Situated in one of the oldest and historic neighbourhoods of Dubai, between Al Ghubaiba and Al Khaleej Road in Bur Dubai, it’s Majid Al Futtaim’s seventh City Centre in the UAE and 13th in the MENA region. The mall offers 263,715 sqft of GLA spread across two levels.

“With its proximity to Dubai Creek and the area’s long tradition as a trading hub, Shindagha is an ideal location for our seventh City Centre in the UAE. The mall will offer a convenient and accessible retail experience meeting the growing demand for smaller lifestyle malls in Dubai,” says Hamad Al Lawati, manager – community malls for Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

City Centre Al Shindagha houses over 75 retail outlets including Carrefour hypermarket; fashion concepts like Splash, Babyshop, Max Fashion as well as ethnic wear Meena Bazaar; consumer electronics brand Sharaf DG; as well as F&B offerings like Starbucks, Tim Hortons, French Bakery, Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts to name a few.

That’s not all. The mall also offers leisure and amusement facilities through a seven-screen cinema VOX Cinemas and family entertainment centre Magic Planet. In addition there are service oriented outlets too like banks and money exchange. With this comprehensive retail, F&B and leisure mix, the mall promises to cater to the needs of a large catchment residing in the area in addition to professionals working in the vicinity and tourists visiting the emirate.

After City Centre Me’aisem, this is Majid Al Futtaim’s second community mall delivering on the developer’s promise to offer great moments for everyone, every day with each of its shopping malls tailored to meet the specific needs of the adjacent community.

“Through City Centre Al Shindagha, we’ll be able to meet the needs of a thickly populated area, while implementing contemporary best practices in shopping malls in a traditional area. It’s a great addition to our expanding portfolio of community malls,” adds Al Lawati.
