Ajman-based R Select, the retail arm of R Holding, has signed a contract with Ajman Markets Cooperative Society to open one of its largest hypermarkets at Citylife Al Tallah. The new mall, part of the R Education and Academic Development (READ), also consists of the new campus for City University College of Ajman and City School.

The signatories to the contract were Imran Khan, CEO of R Select and READ, and Hassan Ali Al Qas’ee, general manager of Ajman Markets Cooperative Society. Also present on the occasion were board member for READ and R Select Abdel Aziz Al Jasmi and Ajman Markets general secretary Sultan Al Manai.

The agreement details the opening of Ajman Markets 56,000 sqft hypermarket at CityLife Al Tallah, a $41 million (AED150 million) project located on the junction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Sheikh Ammar Road.

“We decided to partner with Ajman Markets Cooperative Society as they have been successfully serving the Ajman community and they have the market knowhow. Considering the significance of the READ project, we could only opt for the best service provider,” says Khan.

The mall with a built-up area of 220,000 sqft will offer 110,000 sqft of retail space featuring leading retail brands in various segments. The mall is positioned to serve the student community with a choice of casual dining and quick service restaurants, leisure and entertainment, health and beauty and retail in general.

“We are pleased to engage Ajman Markets for CityLife Al Tallah. They have a profound understanding of the Ajman Market and we are very optimistic that they will add value to our efforts with their several years of experience,” adds Al Jasmi.

“It is an honour for Ajman Markets to partner with R Select and READ,” complements Al Qas’ee, “We are sure that this partnership will lead to significant mutual benefits considering the strategic location of the mall and the expertise of Ajman Markets and R Select.”

CityLife, Al Tallah is the fifth project under the CityLife brand. R Select has successfully delivered the first two projects at Al Jurf and Al Hamidiyah. The third and fourth projects at Al Zorah and Al Khor are also nearing completion.
