In line with UAE Innovation Month, Dubai Design District (d3) is hosting a week of innovation-themed programmes – including an exhibition title ‘Today, Tomorrow’ – from February 25 to March 1.

Activities are being hosted by different government entities including Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, the Ministry of Energy and Industry and Community Development Authority.

d3 will hold the ‘Today, Tomorrow’ exhibition at its Design Quarter. The exhibition celebrates innovation across architecture, design, fashion and art domains. Each section will showcase a variety of cutting-edge techniques, products and immersive experiences developed by d3’s community of creative partners.

As part of the week-long event, d3 and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation have launched the 100 Innovation Rooms competition, inviting citizens and residents of the UAE to submit photographs of rooms that they feel embody the concept of innovation. A judging panel comprising experts in the field of design will evaluate entries for innovation, integration of technology and the materials used. A photo exhibit, held at d3 during the “Today, Tomorrow” exhibition, will display the top 20 rooms from February 26 to March 1.

From February 27-28, the Ministry of Energy and Industry will host the ‘Innovation Neighbourhood’ event at the Design Quarter, featuring a display of 3D technologies, innovative arts, SME projects, innovation case studies innovation awards, workshops and keynote speakers. Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, will inaugurate the event.

“We are proud to launch the ‘Today, Tomorrow’ exhibition at Dubai Design District to mark UAE Innovation Month. Leveraging the wealth of creative talent among our community, we have created an exhibition that highlights innovation in architecture, design, fashion, art and technology,” says d3 CEO, Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi.

“We believe that innovation is crucial to the success of any organisation, and the key to developing great ideas, services and experiences. It has been an absolute honour to collaborate with the Prime Minister’s Office on the 100 Innovation Rooms competition. We also thank the Ministry of Energy and Industry for their contribution to our week of innovation-themed programming. Initiatives such as this one highlight the wealth of talent in the region and reinforce Dubai’s position as a globally renowned innovation and creativity hub,” he adds.
