The Dubai Duty Free (DDF) recently welcomed the largest Apple customer experience in travel retail at the Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3, with two Apple shop programmes opening in Concourse B, covering a footprint of around 925 & 755 sqft, respectively.

The new Apple shop programmes in Terminal 3 offer the full Apple ecosystem including iPhone, iPad, Apple watch, MacBook range, Apple TV and Apple accessories.

The official opening in Concourse B was attended by senior executives from both DDF and Apple with the ceremonial ribbon cutting carried out by Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman & CEO of DDF and David Chisholm, director of sales for Apple Middle East & Africa.

“With the Apple shop programme in Concourse B being the largest in any travel retail in the world, this is a very exciting development for DDF and our customers. They will enjoy the design, layout and products, along with first class customer experience and product knowledge,” says McLoughlin.

DDF and Apple have assigned dedicated staff members to the Apple shop programmes at Dubai International Airport who have all undergone extensive product training by Apple to deliver delightful customer experience.

Small wonder since the opening of the new Apple shop programmes it has already resulted in an increase in sales of 8% for Apple products, a figure which is expected to rise further.

“Based on our current sales projections, we expect Apple sales to reach AED220 million ($61 million) this year,” McLoughlin adds.
