Dubai South welcomes DDF to its VIP terminal

Dubai South – erstwhile Dubai World Central, the 145 square kilometre purpose-built city including Al Maktoum International Airport – has signed an exclusive agreement with the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) to offer travellers an enhanced luxury shopping experience at the new VIP terminal.

The 1,000 sqft DDF shop has been designed specifically to cater to the high-profile travellers expected to pass through the terminal. This is reflected in the shop interior as well as the luxury line of products being sold. The VIP terminal, which began operations in early April, is the world’s first seven-star facility dedicated to private aviation.

“It’s imperative to continually raise the bar in luxury travel and redefine the way people travel. Our partnership with DDF ensures that we provide our clients and travellers unparalleled service and an experience unlike anywhere else,” says Ahmed Al Ansari, acting CEO, Dubai South.

“A retail offer in the VIP Terminal provides us with the ideal opportunity to feature high-end and exclusive products. We are delighted to work with the Aviation District team at Dubai South to ensure that passengers using this terminal can avail our retail offer and experience the convenience of world-class shopping,” adds Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and CEO of DDF.

Located at the centre of the VIP Terminal, the DDF shop features exquisite marble finishes, high gloss veneers, gold frames and free-standing furniture designs that evoke a sense of exclusivity, similar to a luxury yacht or five-star hotel lobby.
