Dubai-based multidivisional conglomerate Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC (ESAG) has launched a sales mobile application (SMART) using SAP Mobility solution (SMP 3.0). The solution enables sales teams across the group to effectively use the application to conclude business transactions on the field, while offering customers quick and efficient service. This is the first solution that works on an ERP platform enabling users to have a 360° view of the entire sales process.

The solution provides the sales team a holistic view of product-related information such as pricing and inventory status with the inbuilt ability to access product information by scanning the bar code. The complete order to cash process is available on the SMART application, which also allows sales person to create customer profiles on the spot as well as review the credit-worthiness of an existing customer.

From a managerial point of view, the application allows sales managers to remain informed with on-demand access to transactions within their team, as well as the data analytics of sales that have been completed. This increased insight allows them to be more proactive and connected in real-time with their sales teams.

“SMART changes the way we do business. It delivers an enriched user experience to customers interacting with our sales staff. This solution also meets the increasingly rising expectations of technology savvy customers as information is available readily. Users and customers are provided data in real-time based on individual requirements. Anytime, anywhere access to relevant product/order information maximises the value of the time our sales representatives spend with customers whether it is in-store or at site,” says ESAG group general manager Abdulla Al Gurg.

ESAG has over 370 international brands under their portfolio. Given the large dimension of the sales team and in order to answers customer needs, it is crucial to provide adequate data and ensure that entire sales process is conducted seamlessly. Currently, as part of the first phase of the project, the solution has been implemented in five companies within the group. ESAG has its in-house SAP Solution Department and SMART is integrated with the existing SAP ERP. The application is developed on iOS platform and can be used on any iOS supported device.

Through SMART, activities such as providing quotes and taking orders can be done instantly. The solution enables customers to also view the product images in other showrooms on the device, helping them to make faster purchase decisions. Another key feature of SMART is that it enables sales representatives visiting customer locations to access the customer’s history and other information, assisting in sales discussions.
