Sales rose by 40% for Dubai-based electronics retailer Emax Electronics at this year’s Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper (ADES) compared to ADES 2013. The growth was seen across various product categories, including latest versions of smartphones, tablets, laptops and panels.
“What’s happening is that the event is catching on and becoming more popular. ADES has once again demonstrated that it is a key leverage of the electronics retail industry in Abu Dhabi and a necessary platform for the industry’s future,” feels Emax CEO Neelesh Bhatnagar. He added that the growth in sales was no surprise given the size of the exhibition this year, and that Emax doubled the size of its stand to help accommodate higher retail footfall and increased sales.
According to Bhatnagar, Emax is hopeful of recording 50-to-60% growth in sales at ADES 2015. “Abu Dhabi has a good purchasing power and an event like this is important for the emirate. The scale of the event has increased this year, and everybody is expecting the event to become even bigger in the next few years,” he observes.
