From Dubai to Doha: UAE-born burger brand Pickl travels to Qatar

July 31, 2023 | By RetailME Bureau

Pickl, the Dubai-born, award-winning burger brand, announced yet another step in its international expansion, as it plans its first opening in Doha later this year. Golondrina Hospitality will spearhead the growth of Pickl across Qatar as the franchise partner.

Since its launch in the UAE in 2019, Pickl has experienced remarkable growth, operating in 15 locations across the UAE, along with its recent international debut in Bahrain. Pickl’s customisable ‘Bespoke’ cheeseburgers have become hallmarks of the brand, alongside the undeniable Chicken Sando. Customers can not only choose from a variety of sauces and toppings but also select their spice level of choice. Also on the menu are Pickl’s signature cheeseburgers including The Jeff, a huge hit in Dubai’s buzzing food scene. Vegetarian customers can also enjoy plant-based cheeseburgers. To finish, patrons can enjoy loaded fries or choose from a variety of “Gooder” milkshakes.

The team at Golondrina Hospitality is thrilled to be bringing one of the region’s most exciting and innovative brands to Qatar’s F&B sector. The first Pickl outlet in Doha is slated to open in Q4 2023, with plans to expand the brand across the country in the coming years.

Aylin Seyidova, Company Representative for Golondrina Hospitality, said: “We are sincerely delighted to ink this deal, ushering in Pickl’s arrival to Qatar. As we open the first Pickl in Doha later this year, we see it as an opportunity to enrich the local dining scene with a globally recognized burger brand. With our understanding of the market dynamics and Pickl’s exceptional product lineup, we are optimistic about mirroring the brand’s success in the UAE and Bahrain right here in Qatar.”

Steve Flawith, Founder and CEO of Yolk Brands, the UAE-born hospitality group which operates Pickl, said: “Qatar has an extremely competitive F&B scene with a populace that values and appreciates high-quality food. Pickl has proven itself as one of the UAE’s most popular fast food brands and we’ll bring the same passion and quality to Doha. With Golondrina Hospitality’s extensive retail knowledge and understanding of the market, we are eager to share our remarkable offerings with the people of Qatar.”

Qatar’s food scene has witnessed impressive growth in recent years, attracting several global brands following the holding of the FIFA World Cup in the country in 2022. As a Middle East-born brand, Pickl will showcase the quality and innovation inherent in the region.

The anticipation for the brand’s opening is palpable, as many Qatari residents have already experienced Pickl during their visits to the UAE. This new chapter proves the confidence Pickl has in delivering the same standard of excellence in Qatar as it does across its locations in the UAE and in Bahrain.
