French department store Galeries Lafayette at The Dubai Mall has launched its new shoe concept Shoe Box to meet increasing demand for footwear in the region.
Located on the first floor of Galeries Lafayette, Shoe Box spans 500 sqm. Designed by an Italian architectural firm, the concept is characterised by high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, mirrors and sleek designs in addition to being floodlit by natural light.
Shoe Box offers over 400 pairs of shoes from 65 premium, casual and high-end brands including Burberry, Karl Lagerfeld, Fratelli Rossetti, Kenzo and Casadei in addition to Nike, Converse, Adidas and many more. It’s also set to become a hub for new, upcoming shoe brands such as Nadya Hassan, who will exclusively launch her collection in the Shoe Box by end of next month, and Poca Poca – already present in Galeries Lafayette with the successful womenswear line.
“Shoe Box has been created to offer our discerning customers an eclectic and complete selection of women’s shoes. Our objective is to introduce a destination for footwear in the UAE that’s based on a great line-up of brands, edited styles ranging from casual to luxury and incorporates a wide variation of trends reflecting the fashion collections found in our womenswear and accessories segments,” says David Cairnduff, store director, Galeries Lafayette Dubai.
“The added interest of on-going pop-up concepts to launch new local and upcoming designers is coherent with the market trend and will add to the interest of this unique space. Shoe Box is the latest exciting part of a store renovation plan Galeries Lafayette is currently undergoing, which started last year with the newly opened kidswear, womenswear and lingerie departments and concludes at the end of this year with the launch of our new cosmetics and luxury accessories areas on the ground floor,” he adds.
