Global online food delivery marketplace hellofood has expanded its offerings by partnering with Dukkan and provide an online supermarket experience where groceries are a mere few click away from customers’ doorsteps in Amman.
The partnership presents a stock list of over 400 products, from meat and chicken to vegetables and fruit. hellofood delivers to all of west Amman with low delivery fees and rapid turnaround to create a service emphasising convenience.
“Not only does hellofood save you time, stress and gas money, it also gives you access to foods and brands you won’t find at your local corner store. The product variety is good, and growing, and prices are reasonable. A combination of these factors make the partnership with Dukkan a winning proposition,” says hellofood Middle East’s CEO Beschir Hussain.
With Dukkan, hellofood leverages its expertise in creating online marketplaces for food, and extends it to supermarket deliveries. “There is substantial synergy on offer for us. hellofood is a global leader in intermediating online food delivery. We have the reach, the expertise and the technology. It makes sense to expand to another promising market sector – that of online supermarket deliveries,” Hussain adds.
hellofood’s move comes as e-commerce becomes an increasingly important economic driver in the Arab world. Estimates believe that e-commerce sales in the Middle East and Africa alone will hit $51.4 billion by 2017. By 2016, the number of internet users in the Arab world is estimated to reach 170 billion. With mobile penetration rates in excess of 60% and the rise of convenient payment options, online ordering and shopping remains a key trend.
