Chinese smartphone e-brand, HONOR has announced its 5G plan with the aim to provide mature 5G smartphones that meet user’s expectations and needs. According to HONOR, the first 5G smartphone will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2019.
With this announcement, HONOR will become one of the first brands to launch 5G smartphones in 2019, following the recent roll-out of 5G network technology by UAE and KSA telecom operators.
Commenting on the announcement, Chris Sunbaigong, President, HONOR, MEA, says, “2019 is a good year for consumers to explore 5G experiences and its applications on smartphones as well as setting their needs and expectations from it. 5G has been always a priority for HONOR and we are working continuously to better meet today’s and upcoming consumers’ expectations from 5G smartphones.
HONOR has experienced rapid growth globally and regionally by providing enhanced user experience, artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled cameras and flagship grade features to its smartphones at affordable price points.
In China, the HONOR 20 has achieved a record-high sales performance of more than one million units sold in 14 days. The HONOR 20 PRO, which is also available in China, has recorded combined sales volume of RMB100 million within three seconds of its launch.
