Dubai-based fashion and lifestyle Iconic, part of Landmark Group is set to expand into Qatar this year. “There are still a lot of markets the company has not exploited yet. We are primarily in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, now entering Qatar. We’re expanding our Saudi and UAE operations as well. I think we still have a lot of growth left in Iconic,” says Iconic’s business head Nisha Jagtiani.
“In Qatar, we are opening in Gulf Mall by May this year and have also signed Doha City Centre. In the UAE, we are on the brink of signing a deal for Ibn Battuta Mall; we would like space in Mall of the Emirates and Mirdif City Centre too. Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi is also a location where we would like to be present. These are some of the main locations we are targeting closely,” she reveals.
Iconic is considering expanding 8-to-10 stores a year across the GCC. In this context, Jagtiani adds, “We are looking anywhere between 15,000-to-20,000 sqft of retail space in larger shopping malls. In community malls, we are looking at 10,000-to-12,000 sqft space.”
