Italian brand PINKO collaborates with Saudi designer Hala Algharbawi

Italian fashion brand PINKO has collaborated with Saudi designer Hala Algharbawi for its recently launched ‘Distorted Beauty’ capsule collection.

With Saudi Arabia fast becoming a magnet and incubator for creative talent and designers from across the Middle East, Saudi women have notably become a key driver of growth in this burgeoning and talent-rich community. PINKO’s collaboration with Algharbawi signifies the brand’s urge to nurture and encourage the Kingdom’s creative and passionate designers.

“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Hala on this exciting project. We have been following with great interest the growth in Saudi Arabia’s creative sector and we’re delighted to be one of the first international luxury brands to be partnering with female Saudi designers,” stated PINKO’s Creative Director Caterina Negra.

Algharbawi’s creative direction was an immediate fit with PINKO known to develop collections that stand out for their unique, eclectic, original and contemporary style. PINKO saw its signature DNA and passion represented throughout Algharbawi’s work, as her compelling outlook, independence, determination and creative magnetism engage with strong women who embrace their femininity and express it abundantly through their sense of style.

This exclusive collection was inspired by the different ways that beauty is destroyed in the complexity of life in the modern world, creatively manifesting a vision of how physical beauty, in this day and age, has become an idealised product in a society that distorts our perception of authentic beauty. Algharbawi has used playful techniques and fabric manipulation, crossing fabrics paired with artfully random and left-over materials for this collection.

Commenting on the collaboration Algharbawi said, “I am truly excited to have been given this extraordinary opportunity and for the creative freedom and unrelenting support PINKO has offered me throughout this special journey. The collection itself, is about how a woman can be powerful, responsible, elegant and glamorous, while Distorting beauty standards. This is not only about fashion but also about the beauty one holds within themselves. We want to celebrate the complexity of beauty and the women who break these barriers.”

With the ‘Distorted Beauty’ collection is set to launch in limited stores across the region this October, including PINKO boutiques in Faisaliah Mall in Riyadh, Red Sea Mall in Jeddah, The Dubai Mall & Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, and online through the luxury platform Ounass.
