Australian food concept Jones the Grocer’s UAE operations have signed a franchise deal with the company’s global intellectual property arm to expand its presence across the GCC, wider Middle East, Africa, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The expansion in each new market will either be facilitated by organic growth or through franchise partners.

“We’re proud of our operating track record that encompasses the launch of eight highly regarded and successful stores in just under five years. From the day our first store opened in Abu Dhabi in 2009 we’ve set the benchmark for café culture and gourmet food retail in the UAE,” says Yunib Siddiqui, CEO, Jones the Grocer, UAE.

The UAE team are in advanced discussions with a number of potential franchise partners within the emirates and in the new geographies and a new store is already planned for early 2016 with further new store announcements to follow.

“We’re excited to now be in a position to leverage our management team’s depth of knowledge, talent and regional knowledge. I look forward to talking to potential franchise partners who share our core beliefs and values in this new chapter in our expansion strategy,” adds Siddiqui.
