Jumbo launches Curbside Collect & Drop-Off service

UAE-based Jumbo Electronics has launched the Curbside Collect & Drop-off service to support customers who prefer social distancing. Online buyers on jumbo.ae can choose to pick up their orders using the Curbside Collect service, while those who want to give products for repairs can choose the Curbside Drop-Off service.

The Curbside services were initially rolled out on a trial basis to support health and safety guidelines during the lockdown. On the back of overwhelmingly positive customer feedback, Jumbo has now made the service a permanent feature of its e-commerce offerings. To incentivise social distancing, customers are currently eligible for a 60% discount on fees for the Curbside Collect & Drop-Off services.

Customers can select the Curbside Collect option when they place an order online on jumbo.ae. Those who would like to drop off a product for repair can book an appointment on the phone or schedule on the website.

“We have been continuously working to enhance our omnichannel offering for our customers. Both Curbside Collect & Drop-Off services have been designed to offer customers safety, speed and convenience by leveraging our large store network. Customer feedback has been extremely positive for this service and it catalysed our decision to make it a permanent service, available at all our stores in the UAE. Our innovative e-commerce measures ensure that our customers have access to the latest technology and gadgets in a safe and productive manner,” said Pankaj Kumar, head of omnichannel retail, Jumbo Electronics.

In addition, Jumbo has made the Curbside Collect & Drop-Off Service personalised. For a nominal fee, the product would be collected or delivered at the customer’s convenience in the safety of their car in the parking. Only one Jumbo representative will come to meet the customer, thus supporting the government’s guidelines on social distancing.

Meanwhile, using the Curbside Drop-Off service, customers can drop off products for repairs or service at all operating Jumbo stores. Jumbo’s service division repairs products purchased from any retailer – including in-warranty & out of warranty products. For product repairs, customers can also choose the Collection & Delivery service to have the product picked up from their location and dropped back once the repairs are completed.

Jumbo’s stores & service centres across the UAE continue to remain open for business with strict hygiene and cleaning protocols in place in line with the UAE Government guidelines. Furthermore, all Jumbo staff conducting in-home consultations, installation and deliveries have been instructed to comply with hygiene regulations, including sanitising and maintaining at least two metres distance.
