La Mer, a beachfront destination by Dubai-based developer Meraas, is celebrating its first anniversary with new additions to its portfolio of offerings. In the year since its launch, the destination has gained immense popularity among Dubai’s residents and visitors for its eclectic mix of dining, shopping, leisure and entertainment options.
More than 60 F&B outlets, ranging from casual eateries and cafés to specialty restaurants and fine dining spots, serve a variety of cuisines from around the world, including Mediterranean, Levantine and Asian. Among the latest additions to the destination are Babel, Al Shorfa Restaurant & Cafe, Maroosh, Falla, SIKKA Cafe, O’Döner, So-Ghawi, Qahwet Murjan,Van Houtte, London Dairy Café, Jelly Belly Ice Cream and Dunkin’ Donuts.
The number of retail stores at La Mer has also grown over the past year, offering a wide range of products from beachwear and accessories to high-end fashion and make-up. Shoppers at the destination can now choose from an extensive selection of brands including Glassing, SEVENFRIDAY, Tarsam, Bayt Al-Saboun Al-Loubnani, Sephora, Makeup Lab, Hamac, Trina Turk and LA Rags.
Upcoming attractions include Rove La Mer, a 366-key hotel set to open in 2020 that will offer tailor-made experiences to leisure guests, a beach club with a gym, an outdoor lounge and other state-of-the-art amenities at La Mer South. The destination will also be home to Port de La Mer, a new residential development inspired by the Mediterranean allure. Boasting terracotta rooflines and whitewashed stonework, the tranquil waterfront at Port de La Mer will host a range of trendy boutiques and restaurants set in bustling piazzas, a selection of four- and five-star hotels and a private beach.
This November Roxy Cinemas, known for providing premium services and luxury seating normally associated with Platinum and Gold lounges, welcomed the first movie-goers at La Mer.
Opened to the public in May 2018, La Mer Laguna has enhanced the destination’s contemporary laid-back ambience with its rusty steelworks and industrial feel and expanded its range of retail and F&B offerings. The Laguna Waterpark featuring five waterslides, two play areas for kids and WaveOz 180 FlowRider are counted among its key attraction.
Hawa Hawa, an inflatable playground in Dubai, featuring two dune-shaped domes with seven peaks of various shapes and heights, is a hit with children and teenagers alike.
Located between Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay, La Mer continues to offer an unmatched beach experience. When fully operational, it will feature 128 innovative retail and F&B brands and host an impressive mix of leisure and entertainment options.
