Dubai-based retailer Lals Group plans to open up to 18 stores in the UAE and Saudi Arabia over the next 12 months. The group plans to invest between AED90-and-100 million for this expansion.

< p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify"> Lals Group plans to open up to three Homes r Us outlets in Saudi Arabia, where it currently has 18 stores including brands such as Daiso, Oshkosh and Carter’s. In the UAE, the group plans to add 12-15 stores to the existing 110 under brands incuding Daiso, Bossini, Carter’s and G2000.

“The reason for expansion is simple. We want to be located next to wherever our customer is going to live or shop,” says Lals Group CEO Jayant Ganwani.

The group is also keen to foray into the Iran market with its brands Daiso and Homes r Us once economic sanctions imposed on the country are lifted, which is expected by early next year. “Iran boasts an 80-million strong population. There is pent up demand there,” feels Ganwani.
