Landmark Group opens 16th VIVA store in UAE

Dubai-based Landmark Group has launched the 16th store of VIVA, UAE’s first food discounter concept. The latest store, located at the Landmark Group Tower in Dubai Marina, comes just 18 months since the launch of the homegrown concept in February 2018.

VIVA’s latest store will have access to localities of Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Jumeirah Beach Residences and neighbouring areas to cater to communities. The new 6,000 sqft store in Dubai Marina will stock over 1,200 exclusive brands of products, across fresh and non-food categories. It will be the first VIVA store to offer a range of organic foods too.

Renuka Jagtiani, chairwoman and CEO of Landmark Group, inaugurating the new store, described it as a proud moment for the group, “As it believes in and delivering value to the customers. The celebration of the new milestone is of special significance, and appropriately we have chosen to locate it at the Landmark Group Tower.”

“There has been a widespread acceptance of the value concept we launched 18 months ago and the 16 stores in such a short period is a testimony to it. Plans are on to open five more VIVA stores by the end of this year. The team has worked hard to achieve this growth and build VIVA’s presence across the UAE. By strategically expanding in key residential areas, VIVA continues to drive savings for families and communities in the UAE. It offers significantly lower prices for the highest quality products,” she adds.

Speaking on expansion outside UAE, Jagtiani says, “Of course, we do have expansion plans to take the concept outside the UAE. But we still have a major part of the UAE to cover before we venture out.”

“The last year has been an incredible journey for all of us at VIVA,” says Georg J. Fischer, CEO, VIVA. “With every store, we opened, received an overwhelming welcome from the communities in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. As a pioneering food discounter in the region, we have had a first-mover advantage. We are very pleased to have touched the lives of about five million customers, in our first year of operations, selling over 23 million products to date,”

“Our customers come from every segment of the society, whether they live in Ajman, Sharjah or Dubai Marina, value is important to all, and they appreciate the quality. VIVA offers them internationally sourced grocery and household products at prices that are 25-40% cheaper than other supermarket brands in the UAE. We have gone directly to the sources to procure our products from over 135 suppliers. It ensures that we handpick the best quality and deliver it to our customers at unbeatable prices,” he adds.
