Al-Futtaim opens Jones The Grocer in The Dubai Mall

Australian casual dining brand, Jones The Grocer recently opened its doors at The Dubai Mall in partnership with UAE-based retail conglomerate Al-Futtaim. Currently, it is the single Jones The Grocer location being operated by Al-Futtaim, the other existing outlets are managed by different operators.

Al-Futtaim reached out to L Chatterton – LVMH-backed private equity firm having Jones The Grocer in its portfolio – in Singapore to explore possibility of getting the rights to operate Jones The Grocer in the UAE. Going forward, Al-Futtaim is evaluating two more locations for Jones The Grocer in Dubai.

Located on the ground floor of the mall, Jones The Grocer is spread across 6,300 sqft, which can seat up to 180 guests – indoor and outdoor combined. The colour palette, visuals and lighting are welcoming. The ambience reflects the fresh food offering that Jones The Grocer is known for through natural finishes. Due to the narrow entrance, the ceiling space has been opened up. A lot of reflective materials have been used. What’s more a fragrance system spreads the coffee aroma around the restaurant entrance in the morning, automatically prompting passers-by to stop for a cup of coffee.

The kids play area lies right at the heart of the restaurant – cleverly separating the indoor from outdoors – where children can eat and play for free. There is a cool café counter where the younger crowd can sit around on bean bags, while working or relaxing. Customers can even choose to sit and work at the restaurant.
