Amazon employee wellness
Amazon continues to invest in employee wellness by establishing local, convenient health centres near its fulfilment centres and operations facilities across the US. This is part of Amazon’s Neighborhood Health Center Pilot Program in partnership with Crossover Health.
“Across the US, an increasing number of patients do not have easy access to a primary care physician and instead utilise emergency or urgent care options, which is not only more expensive for patients, but also overlooks important preventative care opportunities,” said Darcie Henry, vice president of human resources, Amazon. “We want to solve that for our employees, and the launch of these new Neighborhood Health Centers will provide a range of quality primary care services for employees across the country – further strengthening Amazon’s industry-leading benefits programme, which provides comprehensive health care for employees starting on day one of employment.”
The first Neighborhood Health Center is available to employees and their families in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As part of the initial phase of the Neighborhood Health Center Pilot Program, Amazon is looking to establish 20 health centres in five cities across the US. Based on success, the programme will be rolled out in other parts of the US.
