Home-grown ride hailing app, Careem is building connections with its users this Ramadan, by allowing them to donate food to those in need through its partnership with the UAE Food Bank and its rewards programme.
Users can share meals with those in need, as Careem will collect the food from the user’s doorstep at no cost through its ‘Food Bank’ bike delivery available only in Dubai, every day, between 11AM and 5PM. The user has to simply choose one of the Food Bank fridges that appears in the drop-down list on the Careem app and the food will be collected and delivered by Careem’s bike delivery Captain.
In addition, if users wish to donate points through Careem’s rewards programme this Ramadan, it will match the donation for a bigger impact together. In the rewards section on the Careem app, as soon as the user clicks ‘donate’, Careem will double the points, convert them to a monetary donation of the same value and send them directly to the charity of the user’s choice. Since the launch of its rewards programme, Careem has partnered with UNHCR, WFP and Dubai Cares, and has collectively been able to impact the lives of thousands of people in the region.
