Japanese retail concept Daiso opened its flagship store at Othaim Mall in Dammam, Saudi Arabia touching the 50th store-mark in the Middle East.

The store was inaugurated by Daiso Japan KSA’s country manager Ahmed Basha along with Daiso Japan COO for the GCC Manu Mulchandani.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce the opening of our 50th Middle East store at the prestigious Othaim Mall, which is one of Dammam’s most bustling shopping centres with an eclectic variety of shopping, entertainment and F&B destinations,” says Mulchandani.

“The GCC contributes a substantial part of our worldwide business and we have witnessed a significant growth on previous year’s numbers and have been strategically adding two-to-four stores every year in the region. Our success in the region stems from our high quality products and value for money prices, which makes for an unparalleled offering in the prevalent market. Moreover, we continually ensured to offer unique novelties that fulfil our customer’s everyday needs, as well as to create unique shopping experiences,” he adds.

Besides Japanese products, Daiso also offers shoppers a range of 70,000 items to select from glassware and crockery to DIY products, gardening accessories to gifts and novelties, even a range of cosmetics, living, gifting, toys and stationery, among others.

The new unit raises the total number of stores in KSA to seven. This latest addition is located on the second level of Othaim Mall and is laid out over 6,580 sqft helping customers navigate easily and shop for quality Japanese household items.

Daiso Japan operates in Middle East under the joint franchise ownership of Lals Group and Damas Group. The unique concept has been extremely well received by over a billion customers worldwide. Whilst worldwide the brand has more than 4,000 stores, there are 50 stores currently in the GCC region with 32 stores in the UAE, and the remaining 18 located across Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
