Union Coop

UAE-based consumer cooperative, Union Coop has committed to deliver orders placed on its online store within two working days, starting May 10. This decision comes within the framework of improving its services and contribute towards curbing the spread of coronavirus.

Union Coop’s online transactions increased significantly, as the number of new shoppers touched 61,664 this year, compared to 38,816 in 2019, between March 1 and April 21. The number of daily orders increased from 125 per day to over 900, with a growth rate of 720%. Sales for the same period amounted to AED18,740,425, with a total number of 54,201 orders delivered to customers.

In order to deal with increased orders, Union Coop has hired over 500 people for its e-commerce operations. This number includes employees of the e-commerce division, delivery services and logistical support like noon, El Grocer, Dukkaani, InstaShop, Masar, ATC, Swan, Dubai Taxi, Infiniti, New Heights and ADCO where these agreements contributed to achieve records in delivering goods. Union Coop currently operates around 155 delivery vehicles and are seeking to increase the number to more than 300 to further raise the level of delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.

Specifically, for Ramadan, Union Coop’s online store is offering more than 32,000 food and non-food items that shoppers can obtain and benefit from home delivery service.
