MAF collaborates with Hasbro to bring Monopoly to life

Dubai-based mall developer and retailer Majid Al Futtaim has partnered with Hasbro to bring the region’s first ‘living’ Monopoly game to Dubai this summer. Presented in a larger-than life format, fans of the game will be amongst the first to play a life-sized Monopoly game, branded with some of the UAE and Majid Al Futtaim’s attractions and destinations. Monopoly will feature in all three malls – Mall of the Emirates and City Centre malls in Deira and Mirdif from June 13-26.

“The strategic partnership between Majid Al Futtaim and Hasbro is the first in the region. Driven by the core values of each entity, our collaboration aims to achieve the same objective – for Hasbro.inc to fulfil the fundamental need to play for children and families, and for Majid Al Futtaim to create great moments for everyone, every day. Through our partnership with international organisations, we demonstrate our commitment to boosting the scale of the memorable experience that we want to provide to our guests,” says Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, senior director – property management, shopping malls for Majid Al Futtaim.

A lot bigger than the table-top version, Monopoly, the American-originated real estate game is tailored to each mall and the UAE in general, which will attract shoppers and visitors’ attention. Complementing the original strategy game where investment and properties are key to success, mall retailers – Ski Dubai, iFly, Magic Planet, Soccer Circus, Little Explorers, Aqua Play – are also involved in the game, where players can win instant prizes when they land on the partners’ designated properties.
