Majid Al Futtaim Fashion will operate American homeware and furniture brand Crate & Barrel stores in Qatar, marking its entry into the home fashion and furniture market.

An agreement has been signed by both parties covering a five-year term with an exclusive license right to Majid Al Futtaim for Crate & Barrel stores in Qatar, in addition to scope for expansion across the GCC.

Majid Al Futtaim Fashion will debut Crate & Barrel with a 16145 sqft store, scheduled to open by Q4 2017, located in Doha Festival City showcasing the brand’s signature collection of housewares, seasonal accessories and complete line of indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as the unparalleled Crate & Barrel gift registry experience.

“This is an important step for Majid Al Futtaim Fashion as we expand into a new line, home fashion and furnishings. Crate & Barrel is an incredible brand with a strong presence in the UAE, so we are excited to continue to extend the company’s presence further across the GCC,” says Rajiv Suri, CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Fashion.

“We are excited about this new relationship and what it means for the Crate & Barrel brand. The aggressive growth orientation of Majid Al Futtaim aligns squarely with our business strategy in the region,” adds Neela Montgomery, executive chair, Crate & Barrel.

Today, Crate & Barrel is a privately held company owned by the Otto Group of Hamburg, Germany, the second largest online retailer worldwide.
