Majid Al Futtaim has launched its 12th annual ‘Make A Difference Together’ campaign, which encourages parents to teach their children the value of giving. In addition, the campaign aims to stimulate communities to donate together, providing families in need with everyday essentials.
The campaign commenced on the first day of Ramadan and will continue until Eid. Majid Al Futtaim has placed special donation boxes in its shopping malls across Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman and the UAE, encouraging parents and children to donate essential items that include clothes, toys, books, food and electronics.
The ‘Make A Difference Together’ campaign is aligned with the Human Development pillar of the ‘Year of Zayed’ initiative and supports Majid Al Futtaim’s recently launched sustainable development strategy that focuses on transforming the lives of those in the communities it serves, to provide a healthy, fulfilling and sustainable way of life.
“We continue our efforts to enhance the social prosperity of the communities in which we operate. In line with our vision to create great moments for everyone, everyday, the ‘Make A Difference Together’ campaign embraces the act of giving to support those in need during the Holy Month. The success of our annual campaign is a testament to the giving spirit of our local communities,” says Alain Bejjani, CEO at Majid Al Futtaim – Holding.
Majid Al Futtaim team members will also embrace the spirit of giving by taking part in a number of initiatives during the Holy Month to help construction workers celebrate the joy of Ramadan. Team members will host a special Iftar for workers at Majid Al Futtaim construction sites, preparing goodie bags and gift packs for them as well as partnering with Fitness First to provide classes for workers and labourers.
Across the region, Majid Al Futtaim is once again partnering with charitable organisations such as the Islamic Association in Bahrain, Ahl Masr in Egypt, Arcenciel and Dar al Aytam al Islamiyah in Lebanon, Dar Al-Atta in Oman and Red Crescent in the UAE, ensuring timely and appropriate distribution of all donated goods through their humanitarian network during Ramadan. Last year, more than 60 tonnes of books, toys, clothes and other items were donated by mall visitors across the region.
