With the schools closed and ongoing summer holidays, the Mall of the Emirates has launched a new drop and shop service – Yehhal Zeman Awwal, inside its unique Emirati cultural hub, Zeman Awwal. In partnership with Cuckoo’s, children will now be able to enjoy fun-filled educational experiences celebrating the country’s rich heritage and compelling traditions. The service is open from Monday to Sunday between 1pm – 10pm showcasing the very best of the UAE’s past and present for locals, residents, and tourists alike.
Located on Level 2 Fashion Dome, next to Armani Café in Mall of the Emirates, Zeman Awwal combines modern and traditional arts, customisation, and daily entertainment. For kids who love creativity, the pearl diving history experience is not to be missed where children aged 3 – 9 years old can design a bespoke jewellery piece, create henna designs, and immerse themselves in arts and crafts activities. Plus, those looking to get active can learn the traditional UAE dance, play Emirati folk games, and have a sing along to traditional Emirati music. Entertainment and leisure options include captivating storytelling sessions with traditional tales from the UAE and an engaging puppet show experience.
“The UAE is a country full of rich culture and heritage that reflects traditional Arab values which we are proud to celebrate. With the summer holidays now here, there is no better time to educate younger members of the family with these values, whilst learning about the vibrant history of the nation. We know from our insights that shoppers are looking for more diverse family-orientated experiences and kid-friendly spaces in their mall, so we are delighted to take the drop and shop experience and turn this into an enriching, educational and cultural experience for children that can be enjoyed all year round,” said Hussain Moosa at Majid Al Futtaim Properties – Director, Mall of the Emirates
With an impressive 1,100 sqm space comprised of nine distinct areas, families visiting Zeman Awwal can also immerse themselves in engaging art exhibitions that highlight the work of talented Emirati artists. They are complemented by spaces that explore the UAE’s past 50 years, a traditional Emirati souk, and a first-of-its-kind film experience with Majlis Cinema – a boutique movie-watching experience dedicated to Emirati films. The space also presents an exclusive UAE costume exhibit in collaboration with The Zay Initiative, pop-art pieces from local and international artists, and installations inspired by the ocean and desert. Plus, don’t miss out on the brand-new market which features home-grown brands, leading artists and designers specialising in jewellery, fashion, arts and crafts, and culinary experiences.
Yehhal Zeman Awwal is open from Monday – Sunday between 1pm – 10pm for kids aged 3 – 9 years of age.
