Marchon Eyewear, Inc., one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of quality eyewear and sunglasses, and ZEISS, are proud to announce a win of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2024 in the category of Ready for Market – Watches, Jewellery and Eyewear.

The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious international annual design competition for product and industrial design, brand and communication design and design concepts. This year, The Red Dot: Best of the Best has been awarded to VisionClip, a ZEISS frame designed by Marchon Eyewear for its groundbreaking design. VisionClip, part of the ZEISS Fall/Winter 2024 eyewear collection, is the visionary expression of ZEISS’ dynamism for new, empowered vision experiences.

VisionClip is a full-rim titanium frame designed in a timeless navigator shape, featuring a double bridge construction complemented with wafer-thin, high-tech beta titanium temples complete with laser cut engineering, making them lightweight, flexible and durable with a refined look. Merging timeless design and revolutionary technology, the frame includes an easy-to-apply magnetic clip-on piece in Ultem® resin with ZEISS LightPro Technology® sun lenses which provide excellent contrast and depth perception, allowing clear readability of digital screens, an essential in today’s world.

The innovative Ultem® resin clip offers flexibility and elasticity coupled with resistance to deformation, impact and high heat resistance. Rounding out the design, the clip features an embedded side shield to increase stability, providing versatility and allowing the wearer to switch easily between a sun and optical style.

“We are incredibly proud to accept this prestigious award. This outstanding achievement marks an unforgettable milestone in the history of the successful Marchon and ZEISS partnership. The Red Dot award attributed to VisionClip clearly witnesses the quality of work that both teams have been passionately infusing into this project,” said Gabriele Bonapersona, Chief Brand Officer at Marchon Eyewear, Inc.

“The design of the VisionClip reflects both innovation and high-quality standards – the very values on which the collaboration of Marchon and ZEISS is based. We feel particularly honoured that one of the favourite fruits of our collaboration is now being honoured with a Red Dot Award. As partners, we are both committed to creating products that bring real consumer benefits: Innovative lenses in perfect combination with premium frames; to provide excellent vision and style through timelessly modern design. This award will serve as a strong inspiration to continuously pursue excellence along this path,” said Jesper Wiegandt, Chief Marketing Officer at ZEISS Vision Care.
