Meydan One partners with E-Karting

Meydan One, Dubai’s next-generation lifestyle and retail destination set to launch in 2020, has announced its partnership with E-Karting, a leader in the karting entertainment business, to launch the region’s first indoor electric go-karting track.

The multi-level, 4,000 sqm e-track is also scheduled for completion in 2020, with the environment-friendly karting experience poised to add another dimension to the region’s retail offering.

Meydan One’s progressive leasing mix will see almost 50% of its leasable area allocated to F&B and entertainment facilities to set a new gold standard in retail concepts for the region. With 46,000 sqm dedicated solely to entertainment, traditional and extreme sports, edutainment and e-gaming, commercial operators are sure to find a receptive audience in the new generation of visitors seeking an all-in-one experiential metropolis.

Speaking about the partnership, Fahad Abdulrahim Kazim, vice president of Meydan Malls at Meydan Group, says, “This is the stuff of dreams for kids from five to 50. For us, hosting the region’s first multi-level indoor karting track is another step towards becoming a new-age experiential destination that operates beyond just the retail space. The racing concept E-Karting has pioneered is second-to-none, immersive and just plain exciting. Furthermore, the fact that this is one of the cleanest, most eco-friendly ways of getting your thrills and spills on the track shows how far the entertainment-retail concept has evolved, and how we’re at the forefront that evolution. We’re thrilled to be breaking new ground with this partnership with E-Karting, and we’re looking forward to our customers getting behind the wheel inside Meydan One – after we’ve all had a test drive ourselves, of course.”

“We are pleased to collaborate with Meydan One in bringing an innovative and high-octane entertainment experience to the destination and maximising its customer offerings. We are committed to delivering the safest and most advanced electric karting solutions,” adds Khaled Al Qubaisi, managing director of E-Karting.

The e-karting track, to be located on the entertainment floor of Meydan One, will be the first in Dubai to use karts powered entirely by electricity. Each engine will boast increased torque to provide racers with a high-powered karting experience that is completely free of noise pollution and exhaust fumes, making it the most advanced and eco-friendly karting experience around.

The track has been designed by leading European experts in the karting industry. With advanced performance metrics that accurately measure each driver’s key data, such as average speed, oversteer, understeer, top speed and distance covered, the experience is bound to get customers revved up and raring to go.
