Mumzworld introduces ‘returnship’ programme for mothers to re-enter workplace

E-commerce platform for everything mother, baby and child, Mumzworld, continues to empower mothers with the unique introduction of a ‘returnship’ programme for those qualified professional mothers looking to re-enter the workplace.

The initiative promises flexible working hours, the opportunity to work from home and specialised training that will provide the toolkit for women to resume and develop their careers.

“Our mission at Mumzworld has always been to empower mumz by given them the widest choice of products, the latest information on everything mother, baby & child, the ability to compare and the invaluable convenience of shopping from home. And now we’ve gone one step further,” says Mona Ataya, CEO & founder, Mumzworld.

“Being so active in the mumz community has enabled us to identify a growing need for women who’ve taken a career break to focus on their journey of motherhood, to regain a position in the workplace. This isn’t always easy, which is why we came up with our concept of a ‘returnship’ – a career opportunity that recognises and rewards professional women for their skills and talents, and still allows them the flexibility of managing their home life,” she adds.

Women at all levels of seniority and expertise are welcome to apply for a Mumzworld ‘returnship’, from top-level managers to educated, experienced and tech-savvy mothers who have enjoyed an extensive career before motherhood. There are even opportunities for mothers who are tech-savvy but have not had conventional work experience. Roles within Mumzworld include positions in management, marketing, research, content creation, community management and customer service.

The Mumzworld ‘returnship’ recruitment drive has been initiated in partnership with twofour54, the media and entertainment hub in Abu Dhabi known for its support of entrepreneurial ventures. It will kick off with face-to- face interviews in Abu Dhabi and also accept online applications and phone interviews for those mothers not able to travel.

“Growing talents and capabilities highly contribute to the diversification of our economy. We are delighted to support Mumzworld, who are actively opening the door on career opportunities for women across the region and enriching the quality of their lives. The returnship proposition offers a new avenue for mothers to re-enter the workforce, share their experiences, with a focus on flexibility. This programme will certainly add great value to building a sustainable economy,” states Maryam Al Mheiri, CEO, twofour54.
