Dubai-based master developer Nakheel has received the prestigious ISO 27001 standard recertification for Information Security Management, with its in-house IT team managing the accreditation process in a record time of just two months.
The recertification – awarded to Nakheel by the Dubai Accreditation Centre – reinforces the company’s continued commitment to managing the security of assets and adhering to best international practices.
With ISO 27001, Nakheel can protect its information by assessing risks and implementing controls to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets.
Nakheel is one of the first IT divisions in the government’s medium and high risk categories to receive the certification from the Dubai Accreditation Centre. What’s more, the company managed and completed the entire process in-house in around eight weeks. On average, the process normally takes around six months.
“It took tremendous effort, dedication and teamwork to achieve ISO 27001, which benefits all of our stakeholders and reinforces our commitment to best practices. I am immensely proud of the teams – from IT and other departments – who worked together to make this happen so quickly and smoothly,” says Nakheel’s CIO, Ahmed Ebrahim AlAhmad.
