Dubai-based Nakheel will begin leasing office, retail and dining space at Palm Jumeirah’s Golden Mile as part of its rapidly-expanding retail development portfolio.
The Golden Mile – one of several new Nakheel retail projects on Palm Jumeirah – will have around 70 outlets including a supermarket, department store, cafes, restaurants, medical centre and gym. The first set of outlets is expected to open in April 2015.
Nakheel, which assumed ownership of Golden Mile last November, is prioritising tenants who had previously signed leases with the original owners as it moves forward with its new leasing programme at the 10-building complex. Around 400,000 sqft of office and retail space is available in total. The new retail centre will provide on-the-doorstep facilities for the 2,500 people living at Golden Mile and a new place to shop and dine for residents in other parts of The Palm and surrounding areas.
Golden Mile is one of the many Nakheel retail, dining and entertainment projects coming to Palm Jumeirah. Others are Nakheel Mall, The Pointe, Palm West Beach and The Boardwalk. A number of Nakheel residential projects on the island, including Azure Residences and Palm Views East and West, also feature retail and dining outlets.
